LATE SIR HECTOR MACDONALD.
Message From Lady Macdonald.
\By Telegraph — Press Associatimij, Christchurch, This Day.
Mr A. McPherson, chief of the Scottish Society of New Zealand, ha 3 received a letter in reply to the resolutions of sympathy forwarded to Lady Macdonald on the occasion of the suicide of the late General.
Lady Macdonald writes : —Please say to the members how deeply thankful both my son and I are to receive the sympathy and condolence of the Society, which was held in such high esteem and regard by my late husband. It is most comforting to read in the midst of our sorrow the exceedingly kind and appreciative words. Hector often told his son and myself of the many kind things he received from the friends whom he met, and the many acts of kindness which he received from the people of Now Zealnd, and particularly from those in Christchurch. I know he treasured the remembrances of them to the end of his days, and they will ever live in the memory of my son Hector and myself.
