THE BIBLE-BURNING INCIDENT.
Cardinal Moran's Explanation.
(Received To-day, at 10.5 a.m.) Sydney, This Day. Cardinal Moran states that he has received a letter from Bishop Yidal, which denies that a missionary or Sister presided over the Bible-burning. _ Referring to the petition to the Gover-nor-General, asking for an enquiry into the charges made by him against British officers, the Cardinal denies having ever accused British officers of murdering garpoans, for. the good reason that the gamoans got out of the way. He was willing to have a German Imperial Com - missijn appointed to enquire into the the missionaries at Samoa during sixty years past.
