ALFREDTON NOTES.

A representative meeting of settlers was held at Alfredton to further the matter of establishing a creamery. Messrs J. A. Ronall, J. C. Ewington and T. E. Chamberlain, on Jiehalf of the Masterton Co-operativo Dairy Cormiany (Ltd.), were present. «P Mr Ecnall was voted to the chairTand explained the terms and conditions of tho Mastorton Factory, and tho advantages of establishing tho dairying industry in such a suitable distriot.
Tho scorotary of the Alfredton Dairy Promotory Association Committee reported having mado a canvas of the district, and upwards of 150 cows were guaranteed, aud from 300 to 400 promised for next year.
After discussing tho matter at, some length, the directors of the Masterton Factory offered to erect a creamery this season on certain terms.
Mr Gco. Wratten moved, and Mr Claridgc seconded, that the Masterton Dairy Factory terms bo acoepted, which, was carried unanimously.
Messrs John Boustead and Wratten Bros. oH'ered sections of land for a site for tho creamery, and, after inspection, Messrs Wratten Bros. , site was chosen.
Mi , John Boustead moved, and Mr John Cross seconded, a vote of thanks to the Chairman and Directors of tho Masterton Factory, which was earned unanimously.
The Chairman, in thanking the settlers, said it gave him much pleasure to coino forward ancl help the settlers to got what the.v had been trying hard for. The meeting then closed. '
