Corroborative Evidence.
(Beceived August 22, 12.21 a.m.)
Several troopers havo been examined. All agreed the Drayton Grango was badly over-crowded, and tho accommodation insufficient. Imperial soldiers, who are experienced troops, considered a thousand mon sufficient for her to carry. Their statements varied in regard to the officers. On one hand it was stated they did thoir duty thoroughly, on tho other that the inspections were anything but thorough. The ventilation was condemned, and they alleged the crew woro in tho habit of closing tho port-holes, some being screwed down wit h a wrench. Some of tho troops came straight aboard, after days of marching, with no change of clothing or anything else.
