A GOOD PRICE FOR BUTTERFAT.
The directors of the Otaki-Manukau Co-operative Dairy Company seem to have their "heads screwed on right," says the local paper. Less than three months ago the Levin Co-op. Dairy Company sold their winter output at what was then the top market price for winter bu'.tcr—lO.Jd. The Otaki Company was oll'crcd this price at the same time, but declined it, preferring to hold on and sell month by month in the Australian market, with the result that what they realised for April and May, makes llijd per lb, and the Juno output has just been sold at the handsome price of 12j]d f.0.b., with every prospect of getting not loss than 13d for July and August. This increase in price means that the Otaki Company receive over .G3OO more for a like quantity of butter than they would receive at the original price offered—lOjd.
