MASTERTON HOSPITAL.

Meeting of Trustees

A meeting of the Trustees of the Masterton Hospital was held in the Benevolent Society's office yesterday afternoon, There were present—Messrs W. C. Cargill, J. B. Keith, J. Carpenter, F. 0. Forsberg, and J. Hesscy. On the motion of Mr Keith, Mr Cargill was elected Chairman for the ensuing

term. Mr Cargill, in thanking the Trusfor the honour they bad conferred him in electing him to the position Chairman, remarked that they owed a deep debt of gratitude to Mr Keith for the valuable services he had rendered during the period he occupied the position, Mr Cargill moved, and Mr Hessey seconded, that a hearty vote of thanks and appreciation of Mr Keith's past services be recorded on the minutes. The motion was unanimously carried, and Mr Keith returned his thanks for the lrind expressions made by his ■ fellowtrustees. The Treasurer reported disbursements for the month to be .£512 10s lid (inclusive of £400 deposit on the new building), and receipts £569 8s 10d (inclusive of £500 contribution from the District Hospital Board)

Accounts presented, amounting to M 5 12s 6d, were passed for payment. The Hospital diary was read, showing eight patients at last meeting, eight since admitted, eight discharged, two died, leaving six under treatment. The Committee appointed to deal with the tender for the supply of bread to the institution, reported that the tender of Mr J. Blander had been accepted. On the motion of the Chairman, the action of the Committee was endorsed. The Chairman and Messrs J. B. Keith and D. J. Cameron were appointed the .House and Building Committees.
