TARATAHI STOCK SALE. - Messrs P. H. Wood' and Sons held theif weekly stock sale at the Taratahi yards yesterday (Tuesday). There was a large yarding of sheep, but cattle were poorly represented. Buyers were present from all parts of the district, and bidding was spirited throughout. About two - thousand lambs were penned, and, with the exception of one small line, all found ready sale. A line of 500 good rape lambs sold at 8s 7d; a pen of good forward lambs, 8s lid ; others, 8s 3d to 7s 7d; store lambs, 6s 9d to 5s 9A \ good four-tooth wethers, 10s Id: two and four-tooth wethers, 9s ; ewes, 6s 7d to 6d; fat cows, 97s Gd ; springing cows, 955.
Lowes and lorns, Limited, report re their fortnightly stock sale at Eketakuna, on Tuesday. We submitted a large yarding of sheep, chiefly lambs ; competition for these well grown and in good condition was active, but medium and poor sorts were neglected. Fat lambs brought 10s 6d; forward woolly lambs, 7s to 7s 6d; forward shorn lambs, 6s 10d; medium, 4s lid; culls, 3s 6d. Competition for cattle was in and out, ownjfll reserves in many cases precluding lioness ; 18-months heifers brought from 50s 6d to £3 ; 18-month steers, 555.
