A RACING CLUB IN FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES.

A writ has been served on each of the eleven members of the committee of the Waipawa Bacing Club, at the suit of Mill. H. Bridge, who was formerly for many years judge and a member of the committee* to recover £500 with £5 8s lOd interest at the rate of 5 per cent., and £18 15s costs. Devoid of legal technicalities, the case is briefly as follows; —Some time ago tho committee became guarantors to the Bank of Australasia for an overdraft of £500. MiBridge recently went to the bank and paid off the overdraft, and is now suing in the Supreme Court to recover the money. It is said that Mr Bridge wished to be relieved of his share of the responsibility, but the others were not agreeable except on terms which he would not accept, and he took this method of terminating it. The case will be heard at tho next sitting of the Supreme Court at Napier.
