There is an agreeable change in the weather during the last few days, which will be much appreciated by those who have not yet completed shearing.
The Epariama shed (Mr G. Moore's) completed work to-day.
There is abundance of feed throughout ;he district at present, In some instances ihere will be a second crop of hay.
Ilape, turnip and oat crops at lloine tvood and Waikaraka are looking well.
On Sunday, 12th, the s.s. Himitangi landed stores at Flat Point, and then proceeded on to Karaka Bay, where she shipped the major portion of the K:iiwhata settlers' wool.
Owing to the dry weather in October and there is a marked increase iv the rabbit pest iv some parts of the district.
On Monday. Mr W. C. liuehanan's drover reached Waikaraka with fourteen hundred lambs, and returned to Tupurupiii'u with 1100 wethers. So far very few fat sheep have been purchased this season on the Coast by the Meat Companies. Some settlers are holding on in the hope of better prices ruling.
Karaka,6ur fashionable sea-side resort, ivns patronized recently by a. party of adies from Homewood and Kaiwhata, ivho camped out for several days.
