THE RETURNED TROOPERS.
a The Mnsterton troopers who returnee yesterday, were entertained at ahmchcoi provided in tho Occidental Hold. Tin Mayor,.Mr C. A, i'ownall, presided, mx' all the troopers were present. After (ul justice was done to the excellent viands provided, tho toast of the" New Zculnni Contingents" wm proposed by the Mayor, who made some couiplimcnlari reference to the valuable services rendered by "our boys" at the front, and nlso (he well-deserved and enviable reputation gained by the:': courageous achievements, The toast was responded to by Sergeant llcnall and Quarter-Master Mcltac, both of whom expressed their sincere appreciation of the hearty welcome accorded the troopers, There were also a number of the troopers' male relatives present, At the conclusion of the function three hearty cheers were given for tho Mayoi in recognition of his services for' so worthily presiding, not only at the present affair, but at all other similar ones, and for displaying so much interest in thcwclfarcof the military representatives of the district,
