Turner, the first Premier to return, in an interview, referring to the House of Commons, said lie bad heard soveral debates, but did not think they were above the level of colonial debates. On all sides it was strongly urged that tlio different colonies should use their utmost endeavours to bring about Federation, and they should not allow tho present offort to fall through. Indeed,, this was tlio feeling in all classes with whom he came iu contact, Thero were many conferences between Mr Chamberlain and tho Premiers, but time did not permit of' them fully deciding several important questions.
