GOLLIE DEFIANT TO THE LAST.
(liemved August 18,10 a.m.) Madiiid, August 17. At the (rial of Gollie, tlio prisoner defiantly attempted to justify his ut crime, but the Court refused to listen to the prisoner. His counsel pleaded that Gollie was insane, Gollie, who was found guilty, was sentenced to death, and will probably be executed by means of the garotte, a kind of steel collar, by which condemned men are strangled.
