GREYTOWN LAWN TENNIS CLUB.

[TO THE EDITOE.J •;;;:., - Sir—The remarks of your, Groytown correspondent with reference to the formation of the Lawn Tennis Club are incorrect in one or two particulars, and with yourpermissiou' I should like to rectify them, ns thoy may load to a false impression being conveyed as to the constitution of the Club. At the preliminary meeting tho other evening a discussion did take phico with roferenco to the mode of; electing members, but nothing whatever was said that would lead anyone to supposo" that the Club was to bo exclusive, or that members would bo elected on a blackball ballot of live to one." A committee consisting of Messrs H. S. Izard, W. A. Tale, G. W. Kicol, H. 11. Wood, A. Yanghan and tho Rev, A. V. Graeo was appointed to draw np rules embodying the ballot system to be adopted, the feeling of the meeting being that a tnllot system was necessary. Nothing whatever was mentioned about a "blackballing ballot of ouo in live." The ahovo explanation is necessary in justice to I he originators, as it is expected the Club will commeuco on a thoroughly sound footing, and such an impression ns may be caused in some quarters by your correspondent's notes is the very thing the Club is desirous of guarding against.-1 am, etc, Tennis.
