(Received February 17,0A5 p.n i.J Sydney, February 17. The departure of a detachment of mounted rifles for England to-day was made the occasion of an enthusiastic demonstration. . The force consist of forty officers and men, with forty-four horses. 'Tlioy will be attached to English regiments for ton months' training, and will also be available to represent tho Colony in the celebrations of the Queen's record reign,
Received February IS, 10.10 a.m. Sydney,' February 18. The commandant has approached the Government with a request to send a detachment of a hundred and fifty men chosen from Government Volunteer forces to take part in the Queen's lecord reign celebrations.
