THE RABBIT NUISANCE.

[TO THB BDITOB.] Sib,—l notice in your weekly paper of November 11th, a paragraph under the heeding of "Whareama •Notes," in which it mentions that the Liberal Association of Masterton are making an effort to oust Inspector Miller out of his billet. I cannot think that there is any foundation for such a rumour, as the true Liberals of the North Wairarapa can appreciate the services of a good Inspector. Take the improved condition of stock throughout the Wairarapa. This is mainly duo to the scarcity of rabbits and enforcing the Dipping Act, There are, no doubt, a few narrow-minded settlers throughout the district who would be glad to see Inspector Miller's back for daring to do his duty, but happily they are in a minority. I would like to draw tho Babbit Department's attention to the desirability of changing tho date of poisoning, as I consider autumn poisoning far more effectual tlian the winter r meg-say. February and March, hare now three first-class autnmn poisons, viz., pollard, toxa, and apple mixed with either pollard or oatmeal; and another thing, winter weather is more adapted for destroying the rabbits with dogs, and trapping and diggin? out make profitable employment, as the rabbits at this time of tho year arc in top condition and would be very marketable. lam, etc., G.S.
