Business generally in the Wairarapa continues to improve. Local Stock Sues: These sales were M attended, and good jardings of both sheep and cattle were ma le. Bidding was fairly good and almost every line sold. The only lines which dragged were thin hoggets. Wool : Iho London sales opened' most favourably; competition was good and improved prices were obtained accordingly. An improvement on values of last sales amotmted to an average of 5 per cent. The advance is principally on Merino sorts. No cross-bred wool has yet been offered, Wheat has further advanced and is now quoted at 6/-. A good amount of business has been transacted, but it has been almost exclusively for export. It is not expected that this cereal will exceed present valueß. Floub : The advance of value has been slow and largely out of proportion to tin rises in wheat. Millers complain bitturly of the attitude taken by the mills under Government control. Large quantities of wheat have been received in Auckland, the seat of these mills, but it Is Baid that tho greater portion of it was for export, Oats : This cereal continues to improve in value, and may now be considered firm, looally, at 2/6. A good demand still exists, Potatoes are now a good marketable product, and prices have been improved during the week, • \ Bumn: 6d; Eoos: Cd.
