MR. HOGG AT HASTWELL.
[to the editob.] Sib,—Will you allow me space in your paper in which to contradict a report appearingin the papers, which may haTe a misleading tendency. It was stated that all present with one exception voted in iayour of tho confidence motion in Mr Hogg. I now give the correct feeling of tho meeting, The Chairman put tho motion, when a few lield uj) their bands—prbcipally boys between tbo ages of twelyo and thirteen —which in my opinion was a very poor " majority "of those present. The real majority did not vote at nil. Tbo Chairman declared the motion carried " unanimously," which was contradicted by some of tba most influential settlers here. I would like to remind Mr Hogg, that when the poll is declared at Hastwell and Mangamahoe, and part of Mauricevile, be will see that the toting does not coincide with the Chairman' 9 report of a vote of confidence 1 Thanking you for your space. I am, etc., A Settiee.
