He did not wish to say anything further, except to thank those members ifho had remained by the Bill, The second reading was then carried, and the committal of the measure set down for Wednesday noxt, on a division ol 2G to 9, On tho motion for the adjournment of the House a lively discussion took place on the subject of tho exclusion of reportsrs from the galleries. Tho Crst nil night sitting of the Session, was concluded this morning at a quarter to eight, when a division was taken on tho second reading of Sir E, Stout's Licensing Bill, the motion being carried by 20 to 9. On tlio Houso assembling last evening at half past soven, Sir It. Stout led off with a good but moderate speech, of half an hour. The Premier supported the Bill on the ground that it was a comproaiso bttween the belligerent forces of waler and alcohol, Mr Beeves in an argumsntivo speech opposed tbo Bill. Mr Fish made a record as a slonewaller, speaking well to the point for nearly five hours, Gradually the heads sank and the hearts of member rose, and with daylight to the accompaniment of heavy rain the tired jawbones succumbed to the division and the members dispersed. This afternoon has been declared a holiday, the Houso meeting in the evening.
