ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
The montly meeting of the above Board was held on June 16th. Present—Messrs Kebbell (clnirman) S M. George, H Bpnton, J Boustaad, and Eli Smith. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Clerk stated that Mr John Boustead was duly elected for the Tiraumea Ward. It was resolved that expenses in connection with thirds be charged against the same in future. Correspondence. From" Ole Petersen, re account for £1 Bs. Resolved that the Land Board be applied to for the amount. From R E Hornblow, re printing, and requesting a share of same. Resolved that Mr Horublow be placed on the same footing as the newspapers in thai respect. From Survey Office, stating plans of Ihuraua Valley Road under P. W. Act, were sent in duly certified. From W G- Beard, with opinion re Beaufort's claim. Eesolved, that the balance of amount due to Mr Beaufort for the survey of Ihuraua Valley Road under P.W. Act, be handed to him, and that he be intimated at the same time that the Board deny the liability for fresh survey claimed. From W Bayliss, enclosing estimate of formation and bridging oi Central Mangaone Eoad (£757 10s), and stating that the rough survey amounted to £2 2s. Resolved, that the half share, £1 Is be to Eketabuna Boad Board. Tenders.-
Tenders were opened as under for three wire foot bridges. Te Hoe creek :—Frank Parsons £l4 9s, J. M. Roscoe£2l,Geo, Benton £lolos. Moroa Eoad :—J. M. Roscoe £2l, Geo, Benton £l2. Ihuraua Creek, (Davis)—J. M. Roscoe £2l, Geo. Benton £lolos ; W. Wooif, for the three bridges, £94. It was resolved that Geo. Benton's tender for the three bridges be accepted, subject to the consent of the Land Board.
The Chairman was appointed to supervise the same, with power to make any alteration required. Messrs Smith and Boustead were appointed to sign contracts. General. It was resolved that the Clerk make out a list" of the thirds due to sections in Eketahuna Road District, off schedule of thirds prior to September, 1888, and forward the same to Eketahuna Road Board, and ask tbem to make proposals for them. The payment sheet amounting to £2 5s was passed. An account from J. J. Smith for £1 4s was passed, the amount to be handed over when the Cleric is satisfied with the correctness of the claim.
