The Hawea left her anchorage at Onelnmga about noon on Monday, and crossed the bar about two hours later. She arrived off the breakwater about midnight, and anchored ontside about half-past six this morning. The vessel hove anchor, so as to come into the harbor, and get alongside the wharf, in time for the train, as she had some passengers on board for the express. It was low water at the time. The anchor, when being hove, slipped off its fastening, and was lost. All on board were very reticent, According to accounts the steamer then proceeded into the harbor to take up her berth at the wharf, making the usual detour towards the shore to do so. Whilst comin? in, and before she turned to the northwest, she struck on port side aft on what is presumed to be a rock, and afterwards stuck fast, midway between the wharf and the shore.
