The following were the amounts collected at the principal ports Auckland, L 28,604 10a 6d; Wellington, L 23, 800 18s 9d; Lyttelton & Ohriatchurch, L 19,330 2s ; Dunedin, L29,8G9 3s Id, The total for the six months is L 741,416 2s Bd, being a surplus of 1(26,416 2s 5d over the estimate. The beer duty for September was L 3971 4s 4d. The total for the six months was L 24,398 19s Id," being a,t deficit on the estimate of L3lOl Os Id. J
