GREYTOWN TOWN LANDS TRUST.

A Meeting of the above Trust was held on Saturday last. Present—Messrs Baillie (Chairman), Wyett, and Wood, The minutes of two special meetings were read and confirmed, CORRESPONDENCE, Outwards—Read from letter book, Inwards—From New Zealand Insurance Company,re Fabian's fire insurance; From Chairman Greytown School Committee, asking for grant of say ilO; From Treasurer Horticultural Society, asking for amount charged for use of the Hall to be remitted,

Mr Wyett proposed, Mr Wood seconded —That the amount of £lO asked for school purposes be granted,—Carried. The letter from the Horticultural Society was ordered to stand over till next meeting. The Treasurer reported amount of £6B 15s 2d as credit balance.

The following accounts were then passed for payment on the motion of Mr Wyett, seconded by Mr F. H, Wood ;

6. K, Wakelin 7s Gd; R, Bright £1; Auditors fees £1 lis Gd; Ohas. Beard £l, Balance-sheet and draft report were read and adopted. The statement shewing amount due to Masterton Trust as £2213s 3d was read. The visitors list was then signed, and the meeting adjourned. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting was then held, The Chairman read the advertisement convening tho meeting, and called upon the Secretary to read the report and balance sheet, The following report and balance sheet were then read and adopted, REPORT, During the past year the only matters of importance considered by your Trustees were completing negotiations with the Masterton Trustees in respect of the Town Belt reserves. It had been stipulated that the matter should be settled by arbitration, but your Trustees considered it would be better to let the matter stand over at present.

Your Trustees have paid the last debenture, and now, through the receipt of the payment from the Government for the land taken for railway purposes, have a balance to credit, as shown by balancesheet, of £328155,

On the 31st of December of the present year, the leases of No. 44, Belt Reserve, will expire, and as the lands are considerably improved since tho previous leases were granted, there can be no doubt the income will be increased.

The Trustees retiring by rotation are Messrs Baillie, and T, Kempfcon, sen,, and the new election is fixed for the 28th inat.

It will be necessary for this meeting to nominate two persons as auditors for the ensuing year, Messrs Skeat and Webster oeing the retiriug ones, but both eligible for re-election,

L. Webster be-appointed an auditor for the ensuing year. It was resolved that a vote of thanks be tendered to the Trust for their services for the past year. A vote oi thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
