GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the Groytown Borough Council was held on Monday, April 4th. Present.—His Worship the Mayor, Crs Thompson, Gallagher, Gray, Bajllie, Hammerich, Smith and Fuller. The minutes'of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Cleric was directed to acknowledge receipt of the letter and state the matter would receive the Council's consideration.', RATES, Cr Baillie moved, Cr Gallagher seconded.—That a rate of Is in the pound for the Borough, and Is in the pound for the River Board be now made.—Carried. HEPORTS, The reports of Poundkeeper, inspector, Finance and'"Works Committees, were adopted. . BELL-TOWER. ' Cr Gray moved, Cr Gallagher seconded, —That tho matter be left to the Works Committee tp 'carry out—Carried, CULVERT. It was resolved on the motion of Cr Baillie to prepare specifications and invite tenders at onoo, RE MR WYETT'S LETTER, ' Cr Gray moved, Cr Baillie seconded— That the'bank be not cut away, and that metal be obtained from some other place, PAPAWAI ROAD, Cr Baillie reported that the natives would be willing to assist the' Council to metal about 30 chains of road from Yarnham's tp where it turned off to the sawmill, and thought that a sum of M would be sufficient for the work. Cr Gray moved, Cr Thompson seconded —That the siimbe voted, and that Cr Baillie, be asked tp se,q the work properly earned. out.-Carried; '."
