From Mr BaHerj with account due by e 'Tollens on Akiteo contract; from Mr '• Wilaono, with resolution from.Masterton - Highway Board re grant towards Uppei Taueru Road; from Colonial Secretary's Office, re gazetting- Warden for No. 1 Ward; from Crown Land?' Office, stating j, that Mr Tone had been directed to layoff a line of road to section-819; from J. N. Owen,_requesling permission -to erect two gates qi} the Mastertoh-Tinui line of. road; from Mr Butters, tendering his resignation as Warden for No 4 Ward; from Treasury,. with return required to be' filled in for payment of subsidy. , The following resolutions were then passed;— That the sum of L 63 bo grante d for t metalling between O'Connor's and Tiiiui Bridge on Castlopoint Main line. ' That this Board postpone accepting Mr ) Butters' resignation until next meeting, and request him in the meantime to reconsider liis decision. : That Mr Owen be informed the Board cannot grant him permission to ergot'two gates on the main road, That the Board decline to grant the ■ sum of L 5 towards repairs on Upper. Taiieru line of road in'the Masterton distriot, ■-, That Mr Baker bo informed that the Board cannot take the contents of his letter into consideration. Mr Harding and Mr Clarke attended the Board, respecting plaims they had against Tollens for wages on his contract at Akiteo, The Board declined to pay . any monies until the contract was completed, '...... The constable attended the Board, in respect of a registrar of a dogs being appointed. The Board referred him to the County Council. : The following tenders ■ were ■ received for forming about 26.. chains of road in Ducrow's Creek:—Young and Brown, LI 8s 9d per chain; D. O'Kahe, LI 12s Gd; Dona & Thompson, LI 12s Gd; H. McGuicken, LI 10s, • For metalling about 21 chains near Tinui:—T. Pickett, 1,2 ?s 6d per chain; H. McGuicken, L 5 14s; D. Anderson, L2l4s; T. Stillborn, L2 Resblvei—That Young rind Brown's tender for forming the 26 chains of road be accepted, and that D. Anderson's tender for metalling tbe2l chains, be accepted, i ,' That tenders be called for completing ' Tollen's contract in No ? Ward,. I .. .
