FEATKERSTOJN', MONDAY. [Before H, S. Wardell, Esq. , R.M. I There was a special sitting of the R.M. , Court yesterday morning, when a few j criminal cases came on for hearing. . t Vennell v Robert Ryan Weston, alias t David Collins—horse stealing. Accused 0 was charged that on the Bth"of April ho 3 stole a horse from Mr Vennell, valued at r about £ls. Several witnesses were called 1 to prove that the auimal belonged to 3 Mr Vennell, and was seen in the posses- , sion of the prisoner. Others proved that 5 he sold the horse for £4. He was asked i' if he had any statement to make, and 5 requested the Magistrate "to deal with the , « summarily; gating to the Court that he had no intention of stealing the horse. The same prisoner having just, finished a sentence'of six months for a similar ! offence, the Magistrate sent the case for trial at the Supreme Court. 1 W, McGuire was also charged with ' assault and''disorderly conduct.
