Messrs Charles Pownall & Co,, Grey-at., Wellington. MANAGER PRO TEM. A. H. Malcolm, Esq. Copies of Prospectus and Forms of application for shares can be obtained from the Brokers, Provisional Directors, or from any of the branches of t tho Bank of New Zealand in this Colony, until the 15th day of December, 1880, at which date all applications must bo in tho hands of the Brokers, when the lists will positively be closed and shares allotted. Specimens of Caswell Sound Marble can be seen at any of the Museums in New Zealand ; tho Chamber of Commerce, Wellington, or on application to any of tho Officers of the Company. - A In introducing tnis eligible investment to ■ tho notice of the public, the promoters desire to state that the Company's rights comprise tho best, most available, extensive, and perhaps most valuable Marble deposits in the known world, at all events in the Southern Hemisphere. This is sufficiently proved by Casweli Sound Marble seeming the first prize at the late Sydney Exhibition against Italian Statuary and other valuabio varieties, Thpy also wish to dwell upon its known certainty and non-speculative character, the ultimate success of this'venture being now established, The lowest quotation for this Marble is 12s per foot, and ranges up to £5. Larger blocks are, however, much more valuable, some puro White Statuary, without flaws, realising as much as £20,000 sterling in Europe. The ordinary price for a block suitable for a life-size human statue being about LIOOO. The present cost of producing this Marble by manual labor only is abopt 2b per cubic foot, f.o.b. These figures may appear incredible, but they are nevertheless absolutely correct. Thus, taking tho co3t of production as stated, and the very lowest wholesale quotations at 12a per foot, gives the apparently fabulous minimum rate of POO per cent, profit, It is. therefore, no visionary matter, as these are leading commercial lines and the values woll known, the facilities of production, shipment, high quality of product giving a vast advantage over any like property in tho world. Wo will also venture to predict that tho value of tho Company's sharos will increase at least 300 per cent, within twelvo months of issue, Referring to consumption of these commodities, it is also enormous. Tho consumption of Marble, Portland Cement, and Lime in the Australian Colonies alono during tho last , twelvo months has been . £2,862,600 sterling, pid rapidly increasing. Caswell Sound is a commodious and safe harbor for the largest vessels inall weathers, . the works of the Company being situated the water's edge. Tho Government of, this Colony has also promised to favorably consider Bpecisd grants and concessions in aid as soon as tho Company is successfully floated.
