Bank of New Zealand, Wellington, and Branches. SOLICITORS : Messrs Buller, I ewis, and Gully. BROKERS AND TESITORAKY OFFICES OF THE compart: Messrs Charles Pownall & Co., Grey-sr,, Wellington. MANAGER, FKO TESI. - A. H. Malcolm, Esq. Copies of Prospectus and Forms of application for shares can bo obtained from the Brokers, Provisional Directors, or from any of the branches of the Bank of New Zealand in this Colony, until the 15th day of December, 1880, at which date all applications must bo in the hands of the Brokors, when the lists will positively he closed and shares allotted, f Specimens of Caswell Sound Marble can be seen at any of the Museums in Now Zealand; the Chamber of Cbmmerco, Welling, ton, or on application to any of the Officers of the Company. In introducing ibis eligible investment to .the notice of : tho public, the promoters de. sire to state that the Company's rights comprise the best, most available, extensive, and perhaps most valuable Marble deposits in tho known world, at all evonts in the Southern Hemisphere, This is sufficiently proved by Caswell Sound Marblo securing the first prize at the late Sydney Exhibition agaiust Italian Statuary and other valuable varieties. They also wish to dwell upon its known certainty and non-speculative character, the ultimate success of this venture being now established. The lowest quotation for this Marble is 12s per foot, and ranges up to £5. Larger blocks are, .however, much more valuable, some pure White Statuary, without flaws, realising as much as £20,000 sterlmgin Kuropo. The ordinary price for a block suitable for a life-siza human statue being about LIOOO. The
present cost of producing ibis Marble by manual labor only is abopt 2s por cubic foot, f.o.b. These figurea may appear iucredible, but they are nevertheless absolutely correct, Thus, taking the cost of production as stated, and the very lowest wholesale quotations at 12s per foot, gives the apparently fabulous minimum rate of POO percent, profit. It is, therefore, no visionary matter, aa these aro leading commercial lines and the values well known, the facilities of production, shipment, high .quality of product giving a-vast advantage over any like property in the world. We will also venture to predict that the value of the Company's shares will increaso at least 300 per cent,, within twelve months of issue. Referring to. consumption of these commodities, it is also enormous. The consumption of Marble, Portland Cement, and Lime in the Australian Colonies alone during the last twelve months has been £2,862,600 sterling, a;d rapidly increasing. Caswell Bound is a commodious and safe harbor for the largest vessels in all weathors, •the works' of tbo Company being situated -. the water's edge.. The Government of this Colony has also, promised to favorably consider Bpeoial 'grants; and concessions in aid as soon as the ; Com|any. is. successfully floated. For ■ further particulars re other minerals found, at tho Bound, copper, coal, gold, Ao,,,'.together with scientific, professional/ Government, and other reports, with' the details of the objects and intentions of tho Company we refer to the prospectus, which can bo obtained on application to any of the officers of the Company, or from Company's agents, the Bank: of New Zealand, Masterton.
