GREYTOWN SCHOOL.

A meeting, of the Committee was held on Tuesday evening. Present -Messrs Bock (in the chair), Smith, Barnard, Hammerioh, Beard, Salmon, Fenton, and the Secretary, The minutes of the previous meeting were read aud confirmed.

.Treasurer reported a credit balanoe of 17s sd. ' The Chairman reported he had ascertained tho probable cost of sheds, and lavatories for the boys' and girls' playgrounds and that itwonld not exceed £ls. They were urgently required arid the work should be proceeded with at once, and an application madeto the Board to defray the cost.

The Headmaster reported the average attendance for the past quarter at 203, and 'past two weeks at 223; that a scraper-was wanted at the boys' entrance au4 new door mats were required, and that the present arrangement re stationery and cleaning was not satisfactory. Resolved, on the motion of Dr Smith, seconded by Mr Haminerich, that an application be made to the Board for a sura of money to build sheds and lavatories in the playgrounds. ' ; .-. Resolved that stationery be proouredby the Committee andsupplied to the scholars through the headmaster, and that he be requested to. state what sum he would cousider necessary for cleaning, etc Resolved, on the motion' of Mr Barnard—That the. scraper arid mats be at once, procured. • . Resolved that firewood be ordered by the Chairman. Reaolved that the Board be written to re dual desks promised some time stnoe. : ' Messrs Salmon andPenton were elected as the visiting members for the month, and and the meeting adjourned.
