The match Greytown v Featherston came' off at the latter place on Saturday, and resulted in another win for Greytown in nne innings aud 27 runs to spare. The visitors arrived oa .the ground at 10.15. and were surprised to see only one or two. of their opponents on the ground. Thei e was no pitcli prepared for theiu, so they set to work with their usual energy and marked off a pitch. .The match did not start till an Hour after the advertised time, owing to some petty jealousy between the two Fflatherstoii clubs." We. are sorry to have to record that .such ma the fact. W. J. Sa nion and 0. Smith captained their respective sides. Salmon won the toss and put the Featherston men in to the bowling of Ronaldson and Cuff, who soon disposed of them for the' small total of 32. Greytown then handled' the willow to the bowling .of- H. Fry and Tucker (the demon underhand). They ran up tho very respectable total -.of 115, 'Guff heading the score with 24, 1. J. •■Salmon and'Roimldson next with 18 each.. .Llie rest of the team-eacli'd'oing'theii". share towards putting together the sum total. The. bowling of J. Guilds, was. above, the'average, Smith- land tockeV bowling very fairly. The long-stopping of'UuiT was the feature.of. tlie,;Featl|ei!-' sum fielding; ■Donald'at'point was also very good. The Featherston men again' .went in to the bowling of W. J Salmon and'Gregg, who seemed to-be right on the spot as the telegraph board shewed seven wickets for eight rtiiis. A couple of their hard hitters went in and runs came pretty freely, nO being put together before the last wicket-was down, Cohliam-heading the score with-20, giving'two easy.chances which were refused.
