At the adjourned inquest on the Penny children, found dead in their cot some time ago, the evidence showed that Professor Bickerton had failed to find any trace of poison in their stomachs. The ovidence of Dr Ross pointed to suffocation as the only feasible explanation, but the coverlet was shown to be thin and light' and post-mortem appearances were hardly in accordance with the theory of death by suffocation.
