To the Editor of the Wairarapa Daily
Sir,—Mr George Phillips, who has driven the mail coach from Masterton to the North for the last three years, has now left that occupation. During the time he has clone duty on the road, he has been noted for his kind and obliging disposition to everyone, He has travelled on many a bad day, and many a dark and bitter night, and had to ford dangerous rivers at all times of the year, and yet has never had an accident. For these and other reasons, I think it would be only a duty, if Mr Phillips' friends in the district in which he has so long labored, could arrange to present him with some small testimonial of their esteem for himself and his valuable services. For this purpose the writer would gladly contribute his mite, and would be glad to correspond with anyone of the same mind, and his address may be obtained at the oice of the Daily.-Yours, &c, Amicus.
