An accident happened at the railway works at Woodside on Saturday last to an engineer named Chapham. It appears that while working the engine the flywheel suddenly flew off, striking the man on the knee, arm, and face, breaking his arm, and otherwise injuring him ° He was conveyed to the Wairarapa Hospital, Greytown, where lie remains, and is progressing as favorably as possible, Strangers going into Greytown cannot be very much struck with the care bestowed upon the main street by the Borough Council or their overseer' in the matter of keeping the waterway clear of weeds. We have some faint recollection that the last clearing cost the Council some eighteen or twenty pounds. The next is likely to cost as much or more, whereas a few hours labor now and then would keep them down. A meeting of the Masterton Botwh Cricket Hub was held at the Club Hotel last evening.
