The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Association such modification of the land on deferred payment clauses of '-The Land Act, 1877, as may facilitate occupation by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of those clauses. The Provisional Directors will also endeavor to make ample reserves for religious, educational, recreation and public health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to the deputation which lately waited upon the Government with a view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration, The payments are to be computed on some well-defined, liberal, and easily-understood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalments extending ;ver a period of, say not less than ten (10) years. Each subscribing member wiL be required to deposit a sum equal to ten per centum of the total value of the share of land he applies for before his abplication can be entertained, and a further payment of two per centum per. month on said total value until mch time as the block to be applied for is obtained by the Association, and possession can be given to the applicants, or until sach time as the Association shall make arrange- • ments with tho Government for alloting land .to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two per centum do not extend to a further period than six months from date of application. All moneys received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank of New Zealand to the Association's account, t" be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing inter- . est, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account without the authority and signatures of the . Treasurer, one of tho ■ trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association, will also be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial district as soon as practicable. Terms of proposal and application for shares and other information connected with the Association may be procured from the provisional Directors, the Secretary, or at the Wellington Working Men's Club, Lambton Quay.
