(per press agency,) WELLINGTON. Wednesday, PARLIAMENTARY. In the House the Premier said that a book on Polynesia was being prepared to order of the late Premier. The recommendation of the Dunedin Law Society to simplify and lessen the expense of procedure in the higher Courts is to be acted on. The cost of the late general election paid out of the public exchequer are to be furnished to the House. Rollestan promised to consider the
question of instituting registry offices in connection with the police stations, and affording facilities for the transmission of telegrams in connection with the same. Government will not this session empower the Educational Commissioners to deal with lands under their control through the Waste Lands Boards, and investing the proceeds as they thought proper. A committee was appointed to report on Government banking arrangements.
The interrupted debate on the motion ojE the Premier for copies of the correspondence relative to the alleged compact between Government and the four Auckland members to be laid on the table was then continued. After some discussion the motion was negatived by 38 to 25. McLean's motion regarding including Kawau in the County of Rodney lapsed in consequence of McLean's absence. The House rose at 5.30,
