To Ike Editor of the WAIRARAPA DAILY.

Sir,— A letter appeared in your this day's issue, signed F. G. Moore, wherein the writer trys to cast a slur on the Scandinavians in this district, because the majority of them voted for Mr Bunny at the last election, but Mr Moore forgeta&hat they voted with the majority, and f 'jp-it is not only the only on the Scandina Enw^ 1 but also on the British Electors that ho is, no doubt unknowingly, casting a slur, Such scandal comes with bad grace from Mr Moore, as he himself has a seat in the Council, by the vote of those uhintellgent foreigners. No doubt Mr Moore classes himself amongst the intelligent, but I am one of many who fail to see it, and should like to know where he has received his intelligence from. I am not a landowner, but still am the owner of education, and challenge Mr Moore to a test on any subject of education, except in the art of ploughing land. I am sorry that Mr Moore is damaging Mr Pharazyn's chance with the Scandinavians In this district at the next election, but I am sure that the Scandinavians are intelligent enough to treat snch uncalled for conduct with contempt. I have, &c, Frep. Osterunq, Scandinavian. [\Vedo not think that Mr Moore intended to cast any slur oh Scandinavian setters, Their want of knowledge of the

English language to a cci'tiiin extent makei it difficult for them to lake an intelligent part in political questions, It is no slur on them or on their intelligence to say as much as this, and mure than this, in our opinion, was not meant by Mr Moure.-Ed, W. P.]
