CARTERTON.
[from our own correspondent! August 30. The nomination for five Commissioners to servo on the Carterton Local Board took place to-day, at noon, Mr A, Armstrong acting as returning officer, who opened the proceedings by reading the notice convening the meeting, and called for nominations, when the following persons were proposed: —R. Fail-brother, W. Booth, jun., H. (Mister, W. Parker, and W. Vickerstaff. No other candidates leing proposed, those nominated wero declared duly elected Commissioners of the Carterton Local Board. A vote of thanks to the returning officer closed the proceedings.
