MASTERTON LIBRARY.

The Masterton Library Committee held a meeting on Tuesday last. Present: Messrs Feist (Chairman), Renall, Hales, Williams, Teakle. The minutes of the last meeting were read and conlirmsd.

The Treasurer reported receipts of £215 from the Education Board, and that the accounts passed had been paid, and £IOG placed to the building fund, thereby reducing the debt to £50!), leaving a balance (credit) amounting to £3/12/6. The Secretary reported a donation of 25 vols, to the Library, from Mr R G. Moore, and on the motion of Mr Williams a hearty vote of thanks was passed for a donation so acceptable, Mr Hales moved and Mr Williams seconded, " that £ls be set apart for the purchase of some of the works of Dickens, Wood, Lytton, Braddon, Marryat, and that the mover and Secretary be a subCommittee to select and obtain them.— Carried.

Resolved. (1.) That Messrs Renall and Hales be a sub-Committee, to make arrangements for fencing in the grounds, with full power to act. (2.) That the hall in its present condition be let for 15/ a time. (3.) That the Hospital use the room for meetings free of charge, with the request that their meetings be arranged so as not clash with any meetings actually arranged, (4.) That the Illustrated London News and Graphic be presented to the Hospital when two months old, provided they be filed.

Mr Williams moved and Mr Renall seconded, "that Mr Bennstt be authorised to receive and collect any monies on behalf of the Library." Carried. ' . The Committee then adjourned till the last Tuesday in next month.
