Tenui, on Saturday last, the 19th inst. Present: Messrs J, W. Butters (Chairman), Greenland, Groves, Bennett, Belliss and Duffy. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, The Treasurer reported balance in Bank £1565/16/9, and amount available for future expenditure £864/18/10, The Treasurer also shewed that the cost of maintaining the main line of road from Kahumingi to Castle Point had exceeded the amount of subsidy received frem the County Council by £367/15/10, and requested that this amount should be equally charged to the different ward accounts. It was resolved that the sum of £43 be charged to each ward account in settlement of their present liability for maintaining the main line of road, such sum to be refunded whenever the main line account is in funds.
The motion standing in Mr Duffy's name for a grant of £175 towards repairing and forming a portion of the Mataikuna Pakowai line was then put to the meeting, and was lost, two voting for and four against it. The overseers report, and wages bills was read and passed. CORRESPONDENCE. Letter from Mr Jas. Thompson requesting to be informed what amount of rates had been collected in No. 6 and 7 ward 3 for the last two years, also what amount had been expended upon road work in these two wards. Letter from Mr Vallance, stating that he was rated upon 5000 acres of land, and that he did not possess that quantity in the district.
Do. Mr Jas. Bennet requesting that the overseer be directed to make some necessary repairs to two bridges on the Uriti line.
Do. Mr J. V. Smith and others stating that the Mataikuna Pakowai road had become impassable since the heavy rains, and that it was desirable that a piece of road at Ekahuna should be formed on the survey line, and requesting the Board to give the matter their early attention, Do. Mr Jas. Miller respecting opening a portion of the Upper Taueru line, from Mr Morrison's towards Mr Hoods. Do. Mr Wilsone, stating that the sum of £197/1/8 would shortly be paid lay the County Council to the credit of the Board and directing that it should be spent sn the main line only, Mr Greenland applied for leave of absence for No. 7 warden, which was granted.
The Clerk was directed to write to the Chairman of the County Council, respecting a ferry boat for Olionga river. Also reply to Mr Thompson, and supply him with the information asked for Also reply to Mr Vallance sending a copy of No. of sections. Also reply to Mr Smith and others stating that their application had received the attention of the Board. Also replying to Mr Miller informing him that his application would be considered at next meeting. Proposed by Mr Duffy, seconded by Mr Belliss, that a financial statement of each ward be placed on the tabic at next meeting, consisting of amount of rates collected in each ward, and the amount of subsidy placed to each ward; also the amount spent by each ward out of last years rates The Chairman intimated that in his opinion it was totally unnecessary to put tho motion before the meeting, as all the necessary information was now on the table. The proposer, however, declining to withdraw the motion was brought forward, two voting for, and four against it. The following accounts were passed for payment

Mr J. Duffy handed in his resignation which was accepted. The Chairman directed the Clerk to issue a notice and take the necessary steps for the election of a warden for No. G ward in room of Ma Duffy resigned, The next meeting was fixed for Saturday, the 16 th August, at 11 a.m.
