(From our own Correspondent,) May 31st, 1879. A meeting of the Wuirarapa and East Coast Pastoral and Agricultural Society took place here yesterday. The Chairman (C. Pharazyn, Esq.), and. many merits. _ being present. The rally referred to the finances of 'tlie ;. society. ' . Full meetings also took place of the Public Works and Finance Committees of : the Wairaiapa West County- Council Being in committee the Councillors sat with closed doors, but I understand the clerk has received instructions to furnish the papers with information of certaiiX portions of the proceedings .the committees deemed should be made public. The Georgias again treated us. last night to another of their clever performances, Really the tambourine corner-man is one of the most agile specimens of humanity I have come across for a long time past, while he is a perfect master of his instrument. Owing to the change of programmo and introduction of new jokes and fresh songs, all present seemed as pleased as | the audience of the previous evening, and it is only to be regretted there was so poor an audience, The troupe completo their " stay with us by a last performance this evening.
