FEATHERSTON SALE YARDS.
To lie Editor of the Wairarapa Daily. Greytown, March 27, Sir,—There has been a lot of money, close on £2,000 expended on the Featherston Sale Yards. The butchers are all anxious to see them a success, as was proved on Wednesday last, there being present Messrs, Gear, of Wellington, Barber's representative, Crosbie, of Woods Crosbie & Co., from the West Coast, two Hntt butchers, and threo local butchers, Only 15 head of cattle were in the yards, which were bought by Mr Geai, who, after the sale, paid 5s a head more for them than he had bid, in order that the settlers should see that they could get good market value for their cattle. The butchers have all promised to continue attending the sales, and say that they are willing to give more for cattle at the yards than on the runs. These yards arc of great importance to the district in many ways, and I trust the settlors in the Lower Valley will do their duty by sending in to the next sale a proper number of cattle, sheep, and pigs,—lam, &c., Featherston.
