GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A meeting of the above Council was held on Monday last. Present:—His Worship,.Crs. Baillie, Kempton, Barnard, Gray, Udy, J. Smith, and Fuller. Mr R. V. Smith having made the usual declaration, tuok his seat in the Council. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Resolved on the motion of Cr. J. Smith, seconded by Cr. Kempton-''That the Mayor and Crs. Barnard and Udy, forma deputation to the agent of the' Bank of New Zealand, to make arrangements for an overdraft with the security of the incoming rates."

A letter was read from Mr T. Fretlie resigning his office as Town Clerk. '

Cr. Baillie moved that the resignation of the Town Clerk be accepted, and expressed his regret at the loss to the Borough of such an able officer. Cr, Barnard seconded the motion, which was carried.

It was resolved on the motion of Cr, Smith, seconded byCr. Baillie—" Thai the Town Clerk advertise for applications for the office of Town Clerk andTreasurei combined, applicants to find tiro sureties for £SO each, and to state salary required. The Council here went into committee on the Bye-laws.
