(-.4 Rights for publication reserved throughout the World—Wireless to “New York limes.”) (Per Press Association—Copyright). BAY OF WHALES, February 24. Commander Byrd received a message from Captain Nielson, of the whaler C. A. Larsen, advising that it would he safe for the Boling to reach the Bay of Whalea as late as March 4, but Commander Byrd believes the ice is coming earlier this year, and is I afraid that the ship might be caught, frozen in, and destroyed. It is for this reason that he sent the City of New York back, and is also prepared to order the Bolling to return without landing here, if the conditions are too menacing. I The Bolling’s cargo could be brought next spring by one of the whaling ships. |
