BOXING.
WAIMATE SHOW NIGHT TOURNEY. What should be one of the best boxing tournaments staged in Waimate will be held on Show night, November 13, in the Olympia Hall. The Waimate Amateur Boxing Association has arranged an excellent programme and followers of the sport should.find interest enough to satisfy them for some time to come. L. Ennis of Timaru, a clever little featherweight, is matched against Brosnahan of Ashburton who represented Otago at the New Zealand championships. This should be a great bout. Frank Simpson, the local welterweight, who put up such a good fight with Wallace of Temuka in July, is to meet Richardson, the Camara liglit-weight champion. Simp son is taking the plase of A. Wallace who has hurt his hand, and he is certain to give a good account of himself. Mr T. Gibson made arrangements with. Ennis and Simpson to meet Brosnahan and Richardson. There arc also four notice and two open classes. Over twenty entries for the tournament have already been received from Oamaru Timaru, Temuka and Waimate. Entries close on Saturday next with the secretary (Mr W. F. George) or Mr T. Gibson.
