OIL TANKER CATCHES FIRE. THE CAPTAIN DROWNED (Per Press Association—Copyright. BERLIN, Aug. 30. An explosion was heard for miles when the German oil tanker, Swendy, which was carrying 800 tons of oil from Cologne, caught fire and blew up on the Rhine, near Strasburg. The captain, a-jd his wife and child jumped into, the river with their clothes burning. The captain was drowned, but the others were rescued. They were most seriously burned.
