The tornadoes which followed the floods increased the death list, which will be over 1000. Tuesday’s freak storm in Ulinoi-' alone caused damage estimated al 1,000,000 dollars. Red Cross and other relef worker* are hampered by impassable road*. The worst inundations are re|icrted in Arkansas. Special trains carried materials to strengthen the dykes, which uevertbe less broke away in many places. In some districts refugees are ivported to be clinging to trees and church steeples to escape the risiug ua-.ers.
