NEW YEAR CHAMPIONSHIP AND HANDICAP TOURNAMENT.
The following: is the draw for the Waimate players at the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s New Year Championship and Handicap Tournament, which will be held on the Timaru, Y.M.C.A. and Wai-iti Tennis Clubs’ Courts on January 1, 3 and 4:— Men’s Championship Singles:— N. C. Manchester plays H. W. Ogier. Ladies’ Championship Singles:—- — plays Miss D. Manchester; Miss J. Godfrey plays Miss R. Pearse; Miss G. Manchester plays Miss W. Wilson. Men’s Championship Doubles: — Manchester and 'Field play Hinton and McDonald. Ladies’ Championship Doubles: — Misses G. and D. Manchester play and ; Misses J. Godfrey and G. Cowie play Misses E. King and Borton. Combined Championship Doubles: Manchester and Miss Godfrey play Innes-Jones and Miss Cossins; Boddy and Miss G. Manchester play Fea and Miss Pearse. Men’s Handicap Singles:—N. C. Manchester ser. plays W. R. Fea receive 15. Men’s Handicap Troubles: —Manchester and Field owe 4-6 play Mulligan and Swindley scr. Ladies’ Handicap Singles:—Miss J. Godfrey owe 2-6 plays Miss Gibson owe 15 1-6. Ladies’ Handicap Doubles: —Misses J. Godfrey and G. Cowie owe 4-6 play Misses Coate and Morgan; Misses G. and D. Manchester owe 15 3-6, play Misses Lillico and Cossins owe 4-6. Combined Handicap Doubles: —- Fulton and Miss G. Manchester owe 15 3-6, play J. Satterwaite and Miss Lillico owe 2-6; Manchester and Miss Godfrey owe 3-6, play J. Irving and Miss M. Fraser ser; Boddy and Miss G. Manchester owe 15, play Walker and Miss Methven owe 15 3-6.
