WEDDING

MARSHALL—BAILEY. •

A pretty wedding was celebrated recently at St. Matthew's Church, Morven, when Lillian Minnie, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs S . J. Bail ey, iVloiven, was married to Ernest Samuel, third son of Mr W. D. Marshall, of Morven.

The church was prettilv decorated by friends of the bride, and a large bell of banksia roses was suspended over the bridal party. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G. N. Watson of Temuka, assisted by Rev Chard, of Waihao. The bride, who was given away by' her father, wore a simple frock of pale apricot silk marocain, trimmed with panels of fine tucks and filet lace, and caught at the one side with a true-lovers’ knot of orange blossom buds. Her beautiful veil, falling to the hem of her frock was held in place with a coronet of myrtle and orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of arum lilies, roses, and maidenhair fern, tied with cream tulle.

The bride w r as attended by two bridesmaids. Miss Lila Lucock, of Christchurch, wore a cinnamon brown figured marocain frock, trimmed with ecru lace and ribbon, and a cinnamon brown hat to match; and Miss Clarice Bailey, sister of the bride, wore a frock of turquoise blue silk undule, trimmed with ecru lace and blue ribbon, and a turquoise hat to match. Both bridesmaids wore blue tulle scarves, and carried bouquets of lilies and blue iris and maidenhair fern, tied with blue tulle. Miss Lucock wore a string of pearls, the bridegroom’s' gift, and Miss Bailey a gold bangle. The groom’s gift to the; bride was a gold wristlet watch, and she gave him a shaving outfit. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr L. Marshall, of Ashburton.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall where the guests were received by Mrs Bailey, mother of the bride, who wore a smart frock of navy silk repp and cinnamon brown hat. On leaving for their wedding tour, the bride wore a saxe blue gabardine coat frock, with touches of French silk marocain, embroidered in fawn, and a fawn and blue hat. They will reside at Morven.
