CLAIM FOR DAMAGES

SEQUEL TO MOTOR ACCIDENT. CASE ADJOURNED. Arising out of a motor car accident, a claim for damages was commenced in the Magistrate s Court this morning, before Mr E. D. Mosley., S.M., jn which Raxene Josephine Sword, by Donald Sword, stationmaStef, - Waimate, claimed from Dorothea Hurst, wife of John Culmer Hurst, farmer, Wailiaorunga the sum of £33 14s 6d. The claim was to the following effect: (1) That in June of this year the defendant was negligently driving a motor car at or near the entrance to the railway station, Waimate, and that the said car collided with and ran over the plaintiff. (2) The plaintiff suffered concussion and other bodily injuries (3). The plaintiff claims £25 damages. (4) The plaintiff claims the further sum of £8 14s 6d, made up of medical expenses, medicines, and cost of repairing bicycle. After the taking of the evidence of Dr. A. G. Pitts, the case was adjourned until December sth, 1925.
