MOTOR CYCLING

HILL CLIMBING. A hill climbing competition for motor-eyeles conducted under the auspices of the Pioneer Sports Club was held at Cashmere Hills on Saturday afternoon. The track, wheih was about 200 yards long, provided a very gruelling test for competitors, and not many machines were capable of standing the strain. There were good entries, and two competitions were held —one for light machines and another for heavy. The best time was put up by G. Henderson in the heavy-weights. The following are the results:— UNDER 600 CUBIC CAPACITY C. Bell, 5-6 Indian, 23|secs .... 1 G. Lambert, 5-6 Indian, 26sec .. 2 G. Henderson, 5-6 Harley-David-son, 27 2-ssecs 3 Six competed. OVER, 600 CUBIC CAPACITY G. Henderson 7.9; Harley Davidson, 21secs 1 G, Hockley, 7.9; Indian, 24 4-ssee 2 G. LaHnbert, 7.9 Indian, 26sec . . 3 Six ■ competed. The Harley-Davidson and Side Car ridden by G. Henderson, in his petrol consumption test on January 13th, 125 miles to the dal used BIG TREE Petrol.
