. 0 —— MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of the A. and P. Association was held on Saturday. Present: Messrs W. Hayman (VicePresident), P. Hunter, W. F. Cheverton, R. Sinclair, W. Geddes, E. B. Harrison, J. E. Hutchinson, J. T. Hay, E. C. Studholme, M. Mcßae, W. Bell, J. C. Hay, M. Elliot, J. C. Faulkner, C. L. M. Gunn, R. Creeser, I. Andrews, C. S. McLachlan, G. H. Andrew, C. S. Mcand J. I. Haymna. The Otago Association advised that the annual horse parade would be held on September 24, and the Summer Show on November 29 and 30. —Received. The Oamaru Association advised that their show would be held on November 23 and 24. A request for a donation to the Waimate Ploughing Match Committee was received and it was resolved to make a grant of 2 guineas. Two resignations were received and accepted with regret. The Secretary of the Council of Agriculture. wrote re the conference to be held in Wellington on July 19, and forwarded remits for consideration. Among them were proposals for the abolition of the amusement tax as applied to shows, the improvement of agricultural education, and railway facilities for exhibitors at shows.—Received. The Vice-President was unanimously elected to represent the Association at the Wellington Conference. It was decided to hold the Waimate Show on November 16. A ground committee and sub-com-mittee were set up to revise the schedules for the fixture. Accounts amounting to £2 17 a 6d were passed for payment.
